When we see Muslims become believers in Jesus, they look for an umma. A group that will be a family to them. Is this similar to what you are writing about? It is much easier for some of us, to have people actually live in our homes. But, because of our western independent lifestyle and to be honest, personalities, some Christians are very stressed by this . Even transportation makes it difficult, especially in cities. I may not understand but having lived in imperfect communities of grace much of our lives, we've found it very demanding to be elders, guiding these communities. I do much prefer them to traditional church, but it requires everyone to faithfully develop their gifting and to practice accountability. I admit that our communities have not blossomed, under our leadership because neither of us are leaders in a traditional sense. Unless we have someone who is, the groups dwindle.
